About Us
Hello and welcome! I have spent 15 years working with kids. I have worked at therapeutic group homes, managed Psychiatric Residential Facilities, worked directly in homes with families, and for the last 5 years I have taught Special Education in a self-contained classroom.
I started Excel Coaching Solutions with one goal; to share my experience and knowledge with parents and teachers who are struggling with kids with emotional and behavioral needs. Whether your child is struggling with autism, trauma, or any other issue, together we can help guide them towards a better future!
If we don't stand up for children, then we don't stand for much." — Marian Wright Edelman
I have a Masters in Teaching with a focus in Mid/Moderate Special Education.
I am licensed in two states, (Montana and South Carolina), and for the past five years have taught self-contained classrooms, (with a focus on behavioral isssues).
For 10 years I worked in and managed therapeutic group homes and psychiatric residential facilities.
I served populations of 8-12 youth, managing behaviors, creating routines and schedules, and teaching life-skills.
During Covid I worked as a Home Support Specialist, working directly with parents and children in their homes.
We focused on the ARC therapeutic framework, building familial attachment, resiliency, and competence.
At Excel Coaching Solutions I utilize my 15 years of experience working with children, utilizing therapuetic framework such as ARC, and de-escalation programs such as CPI, MANDT, and VIP to empower parents to unlock their child's full potential.
We believe that many children who struggle with severe emotional disabilities, or other types of neurodivergence often struggle at school and home, not because they are trouble-makers, or because parents and teachers don't care. They struggle because the adults in their life do not have the proper tools to meet the child's needs. Our goal is to provide teachers and parents with those tools.
Our strategy is two-fold. First we help advocate with the parents to create strong, data-driven IEP's that adequately address their child's actual needs, and not just attempt to mitigate any negative behaviors. But that is not enough. Children need a holistic environment, where home and school work in conjunction. To ensure that, we help parents devise systems that make the home less chaotic and stressful, and reinforce the structure they have at school.
Every child can succeed. We're here to help you create the right environment for your child to be their best.
